St. John's Guild of Renaissance Actors
is a historical reenactment group, based on the actual Holy Military Order of Saint John of Jerusalem playing at renaissance fairs in Northern California. The actual Holy Military Order of the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem is an active, historical order, dating back to the early 12th century. It's patron saint is Saint John the Baptist and follows the rules of Saint Augustan. The Order is one of three ancient Orders of Knighthood that still exists today, and are still recognized by the Holy Roman See (Pope).

Members of the Guild
Members portray nobles, lesser nobles, Knights, and simple soldiers who served the the Order of the "Knights Hospitaller," and represent the social class structure of the order in the time of the Tudor reign of England. Members of the Guild are easily distinguishable, due to the similarity in their attire and the presence of a Maltese cross on their costume.

The Guild maintains a period encampment
The encampment is the site for many of the Guild's activities including Latin Hours, military muster and inspection, military exercises and drills, and weapon practice are also conducted. The encampment is the staging area for the honor guard, marches and knighting ceremonies, as well as being a place where members can rest in a time period setting.
